Hi, I'm Crystal — a licensed hair stylist with nearly 20 years behind the chair and a deep frustration with the noise, the gimmicks, and the misinformation in the beauty industry. I created The Hair Truth Studio™ to be the resource I wish I'd had — and the one I wish my clients had between appointments.

My Story

How I Got Here

I've been behind the chair for nearly two decades 😱, and I've watched the hair and beauty industry get noisier, more confusing, and more frustrating for the women I serve. Clients come in with ten different opinions from ten different influencers — and most of it is wrong, or at least wrong for them.

The Hair Truth Studio™ started as a way to answer my clients' questions between appointments. It grew into something much bigger — a platform for honest education, real tutorials, and product recommendations I'd stake my professional reputation on.

I'm also a mom. I know what it's like to have three minutes in the morning and still want to feel like yourself. That's who I built this for: real women, real schedules, real results.

My Journey

2008
Got my cosmetology license and landed my first salon position. Fell hard for the art of hair color and cutting.
2019
Opened my own chair and rebuilt a clientele from scratch — learning what women actually need from their hair, not what magazines say they want.
2020
Started posting tutorials on social media after clients kept asking "can you show me how you did that?" Turns out, a lot of women had the same question.
2021
Partnered with R&Co and Nutrafol(2025) — two brands I already used and loved — to share them with my growing online audience.
2025
Launched The Hair Truth Studio™ — the full platform bringing together education, products, and community in one honest space.
